Joe
Painting has been my passion since I was about 8-years old. I enjoy taking in the world around me and trying to capture something special. Landscapes are very powerful, thought provoking, and creates deep emotion. Wyoming has been home for my entire life and creates much inspiration.
I am self-taught following models of artists like Thomas Kinkade, Bob Ross, etc. My work is done in oil and acrylic. I strive for realism in my work and I get better each painting I do! I am completely blind in my left eye; therefore, I had a great deal to overcome in painting in regards to depth perception. Painting has helped me take in my surroundings and note all the nooks and crannies that make a object. My paintings emphasize shapes, shadows, and contrast colors with light and dark extremes.
Outside of painting I enjoy spending time with my family and working with children. I am extremely passionate about children and I try to incorporate them into my landscapes. Currently, I am starting to get into Plein Air painting which has helped my art improve greatly!
